Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin is a Canadian as well as a New Zealand actress. Paquin is a native of Winnipeg and grew up in Wellington and first made her acting debut as Flora McGrath when she played her role in The Piano. She won an Academy Award at the age of 11 for Best supporting Actress. Anna Paquin in full Anna Helene Paquin (born July 24, 1982 Winnipeg Manitoba Canada) Canadian-born New Zealand actress who as youngster won the Academy Award for best supporting actress for her role as the loquacious and inquisitive daughter of the lead character, played by Holly Hunter in the atmospheric romantic film The Piano (1993). In response to an audition, Flora McGrath was cast as the daughter a Scottish pianist. Flora McGrath is the daughter of a muted Scottish musician who came into New Zealand to marry in the 19th century. In her teens she emigrated from New Zealand to United States. Paquin was the main character in the film Fly Away Home in 1996 as well as a brief appearance as Jane Eyre when she was still a toddler. Paquin was Frankie Addams from a television film adaptation of Carson McCullers' novels The Member of the Wedding (1997). She was a part of the supporting cast in Princess of Spain Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997. The role she played was for teenagers in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000). In addition, she played the role of a teen girl named Polexia Aphrodisa on Almost Famous (2000).
